Welcome to My New Blog!

Welcome. My name is Vercie Lark, author of Make It Rain. I’m so happy to have you as a visitor to my blog about my new book. This project is very special to me, and I hope to share some of that excitement with you here.

I’ll be using this blog to interact with you about Make It Rain, expanding on some of the topics in it and blogging on some of the ideas related to my book. This is a great place for you to get to know me, and I’m looking forward to getting to know you, too. What did you think of Make It Rain? What questions do you have for me? How do you relate to my book?

I’ll be returning here frequently with new posts and responses to feedback from you. Until next time, tell me a little bit about yourself.

    Mr. Lark,

I have been hearing your name on the radio recently and wondering if you could be the same Vercie Lark who was in the Joint Systems Engineering Program at Central State University in the 1980’s. Then I found this website with your picture confirming that you are, indeed, that same person. It was so good to hear of your success. I remember you as one of the students who helped us lay the foundation for the B.S. degree program in Manufacturing Engineering at Central State. Therefore, I wanted to thank you for that contribution, congratulate you on your career success, and wish you and your family continuing blessings in the future.

Hi Dr. Grissom, it is indeed me. I have tried several times to find a way to reconnect with you and thank you for all that you did for me and the others who were in the program. I along with my family have had a great life as a result of the learning and support you provided while I was at Central State. I still remember the contest (project) where we built bridges to see who could design one that was strong enough to hold up after dropping a weight on it but light as well. You we’re always patient with us and provided me with the confidence to make it at Wright State. I hope you are well and life has been great as well. Are you still living in the area around Central State? If so, I have to stop by when I am in Ohio to catch up. It’s so great to hear from you. I look forward to connecting with you when I am in town again. I will email you when I am traveling back that way. I’d like to also reconnect with the school. Over the past year I’ve emailed and called to connect with the Dean over the college and Alumni organization with no success. All my communications never been answered and I gave up frankly. If you have contacts to provide and help me reconnect and begin giving back to the school that launched my career that would be great. I am on the CEG department at Wright State and a Trustee at Avila University here in Kansas. It would be great if I can play a more direct role helping the program at CSU and the students who are starting their journey. I will be in touch soon.
